Dans sa 1er vie, Childe, le 11e exécuteur des Fatuis meurt misérablement aux mains de son amant, Morax (connu sous Zhongli après avoir abandonné son titre d'Archon). Accusé d'avoir tué Xiao, il a été déshonoré. Après sa mort, il se réveille dans un lieu étrange où il devient un participant lié à un système. Ce système lui dit qu'il a été sélectionné pour jouer le rôle d'autres personnages dans différents univers et qu'il doit accomplir des missions pour récupérer des points. Childe n'ayant pas le choix va donc vivre 167 vies différentes.
A la fin de sa 168e vie, on lui annonce qu'il se réveillera dans son corps durant sa 1er vie. Sa mission durant cette vie est "devenir le grand vilain de cet histoire". Bien sûr, il apprend que l'univers elle-même est une histoire interactive centrée sur les 2 jumeaux : Lumine et Aether et que Childe qu'importe les choix du lecteur sera le grand vilain. A son réveil quelques semaines après l'apparition du voyageur, Childe décide d'accomplir sa mission correctement et devenir le grand vilain de l'histoire et cette fois, il sait quoi faire sans finir torturer et tuer par son amant, tout en devenant le boss final de cet univers !

Liyue's warmth crashed into Childe like waves in the ocean. So violent yet so beautiful. Childe doesn't fight it, he sinks in it's current, he drowns in it instead.
He meets Zhongli and suddenly he feels unbroken. He feels whole. It's as if the Abyss never happened. As if his father never happened. As if he's human, unblemished, and unfaded.
Then Liyue's trial happened.
Those Cor Lapis eyes that shone for him, that saw him as someone to be cherished, now stood focused on Signora as a Gnosis is traded away.
He'd felt this before...he's being abandoned again.
A poisoning incident somehow leads him to find a "tumor" growing on elemental energy, a conspiracy led by the Abyss, and a child of his own.
Through this, Childe heals. He tries to forget.
Through this, Zhongli finds that his actions....have consequences.
