Summary
The bright, white light consuming Eddie’s vision shrinks into the end of a pen torch, shining into his left eye, then his right. An unfamiliar man in a blue shirt is peering into his face. Eddie blinks at a world still resolving into solid shapes and watches the man’s mouth move, meaningless and repetitive. His ears feel over-full; the universe murmurs at him in low ripples of noise. For a while, he becomes mesmerised by the flicker of red and blue lights cutting through the darkness over the man’s shoulder, the orange glow of spot fires still smouldering in the middle distance. Where is this?

The presumed-dead Obscurial has a lot on his plate, from seasickness to the inability to control his murder urges. It's just kind of unfortunate that he's lost all control of his monster right after finding someone he desperately wants to keep safe.

Summary
It started out small and innocently enough.
Newt had marveled at how far Credence had come in being able to control the obscurus in the years they had been traveling together. Perhaps controlled was the wrong word - now the obscurus and Credence seemed to exist as one being. It was truly astounding to watch Credence shift. One moment the young wizard would be there, the next fading at the edges until all that remained was a wisp of black sand.
