My collection of self-indulgent pick-me-ups. Because sometimes, you just need a dose of happiness in your life. You're gonna see a lot of light bdsm in here because it's fun to write and I cannot write Adrien without a praise kink. All fics will be tagged to the best of my abilities, but feel free to point out if you feel like a tag is missing! There is not supposed to be a central plot to these fics or anything like that. Summary
My attempt at redoing Yu-Gi-Oh with a focus on character development, magic, and historical accuracy instead of card games. While this is technically a series, "All This We Do in the Name of Ma'at" functions as a standalone story. All of the other stories are just in-universe follow ups to show what the characters got up to after the story was over. These shorts largely function as stand alones, too, since Ma'at follows cannon very closely in the important ways. All of the stories are ordered loosely in terms of when they occured. You can read them in any order.
All of the Egyptology is heavily researched and I did my best to get it right. If something is off and you have a source, please send it my way!
All of the stuff in modern Japan has minimal research done and is more for flavor than anything else. I'm going for anime-level accuracy with that, not realism.

“What a surprise to see you here, Gen Asagiri,” the man says. He appears to be in his fifties, maybe - graying hair at the roots that fades to youthful black at the tips, like a photograph developing in reverse. His beard is unshaven, a patchy constellation of salt and pepper, but his eyes are impossibly young.
They gleam with mischief, intelligence, and something else - something old and knowing. He watches Gen with open amusement, like someone who just found an unexpected letter in a familiar book. “I didn’t expect you. I’ve been trying for Yuzuriha or Taiju since I can’t get to Senku.”

“You’re too fucking stubborn” Kohaku adds.
“And idiots” Ryusui contributes.
“That too” Kohaku agrees.
“That’s not exactly what I was going to say…” Yuzuriha trails off in soft nervous laughter.
“Oh my god,” Senku groans, “just spit it out already, I’m hungry.”
Tsukasa, never being one to beat around the bush, is the one who says it
“We believe you two are in love. Mn.”
Gen feels his jaw drop. Next to him Senku goes very still.

Summary
When they’d first met, just after Ryusui had been revived, Ryusui had made his move. He wasn’t one to wait. He’d found Ukyo finishing up making a new batch of arrows, had snapped his fingers in front of his face, and leaned in, flashing a grin and said, plainly, “I desire you.”
It usually worked. Or if not worked, at least provoked a reaction. A blush, a laugh, annoyance - something. Ryusui was a lot, and he knew it. But he was also handsome, clever, and confident enough to get away with being a lot. People reacted.
Instead, Ukyo had raised a single eyebrow and said, “I’m a wait-for-the-third-date kind of guy,” in the same tone he might use to comment on the weather. Then he’d turned and walked off to go spar with Kohaku, leaving Ryusui standing there like a fish gasping on the beach.

Ukyo's pretty clearly not impressed with Ryusui. And that would be fine, except Ryusui has started to cough up flowers, and Ruri's telling him it's because he's in love with someone who doesn't love him back.

In their defense, they thought it was pretty obvious.
The Kingdom of Science may have maxed out their Intelligence stat; but, they rolled a 1 on Perception. Or, in other words, they might not have noticed the change in relationship between one scientist and one mentalist.
Sure, they could just tell them. But, where would be the fun in that?
