I have recently changed the name of this fic from 'Saving my Brother, The Lionheart' to 'In the hope' as it was just too long, and I feel the new title is a better representation of the fic. Sorry for any confusion!

Summary
In 1979, Regulus Black went to the cave, intent on stealing a Horcrux, then dying.
In 1995, to his disappointment, he returns. In a home overrun with muggle-lovers and Aurors, Regulus wishes that he drowned. In fact, every day he considers attempting it again.
Frozen in time at seventeen, Regulus is somehow reeled back into the ruthless war he wanted so desperately to avoid. This time around, instead of bowing his head to the Dark Lord, he's... good?
Flanked by his older brother, who is practically decrepit, and the wizarding police who tried to kill him the last time, Regulus Black tussles with his morality, his ingrained loyalty and living in the 90s.
Alternatively, Regulus doesn't die, saves the world, and becomes a dedicated supporter of SPEW, not necessarily in that order.
