Summary
Tears welled up in Phainon’s eyes. There’s only one person he’d ever marry. “Mydei?” How could he forget getting married to Mydei! It would have been the greatest day of his life!
“Of course!” Cipher encouraged Phainon’s train of thought. “Who else would it be? You’re not cheating on the Little Lion, are you?”
Castorice put her hand on Cipher’s shoulder. “That might be a bit far…”
Cipher just grinned as Phainon’s teary look cleared up and made way for fire in his eyes.
“I would never,” he growled. “Mydei is the only person for me.” Through the fog in his head, he understood that much, and even though the world was tilting again, he steadied himself on the table to properly sit up. With all the gumption of a royal instating a new law, he said, “And I’m the only one for him.”
Cipher tricked a drunk Phainon into believing Mydei is his husband. Mydei is baffled by this development but uses it to his advantage.

Summary
In the seven years they've known each other, Phainon and Mydei hadn’t been separated for more than a couple of days. They met in their first year of college as roommates, they quickly became friends (best friends), which led them to living together after their time at school. Phainon adored their arrangement, their routine. Mydei was always there when he needed him. As someone who didn’t handle being alone well, Phainon appreciated Mydei's steady presence in his life.
Their streak broke when Mydei's father died. Mydei was summoned back to his homeland of Castrum Kremnos for a week-long funeral.
