“There’s certainly enough to share with me and Bjorn here,” Askeladd replied easily and sat down across from the fire, chin in hand and that insufferable smirk on his face. “Or were you planning to eat all that by yourself?”

Toka had even called it a positive, once. “It must be quite jarring,” she had said, “To look over and see your clan slaughtered, surrounded by the smell of vanilla and caramelized sugar.”
