Luckily for Twilight, Rarity would be damned if she let that happen.
When Twilight gets stood up by her date, Rarity (who had been
spyingchecking up on her friend) arranges for all their friends to show up for Twilight’s sextuple date to cheer her up – and then jokingly-or-is-she suggests she and Twi should have a second date.❤️

Luckily, Rarity has a very beautiful alicorn princess to help with that.
(Rarity Is Celestia’s Royal Tailor AU) Rarity and Celestia, the former of which is definitely crushing and the latter of which is plausibly crushing and both of whom are bored at the Grand Winter Gala, seek each other out and (after Celestia convinces Rarity to surmount her fear of heights) enjoy a private flight together en route to a private discussion at the castle library.
Very sweet.

Set after the episode "Trade Ya."
A comment by Applejack hints at Rarity that AJ broke into her home and snooped through her jewelry; AJ blusters that she just noticed Rarity has five different near-identical barrettes and spins increasingly weak excuses, then finally admits she just likes looking at Rarity. Fortunately, it’s vice-versa.
