Carol has been playing soccer since the ripe age of three. She was put in the big leagues at eight while being forced to recite the gospel to read at mass the next weekend. She was flying out to compete at eleven, unfinished trigonometry homework sitting in her official soccer bag. At sixteen she was a home schooled graduate and given a full ride to the University of New Mexico just so she could play for their team.
Five years later Carol faces the consequences of improper treatment on her injuries, late-stage functioning alcoholism, and a failed relationship that scuffles her dynamic with the team. A new recruit joins in early September and Carol will begin to reconsider her choices for this sport, and where the path has taken her.
