“It wasn’t a trick of the light,” Techno murmured, his eyes wide as the glowing got brighter.
Wilbur’s heart pounded in his chest as he looked down at himself, and realized the freckles dotted along his arms had started to glow. When he made the effort to see the outline of his nose, he noticed that the freckles on his face were glowing as well.
“Was he doing this last night?” Phil asked, unable to tear his eyes away from Wilbur’s face.
“Uh, no, he definitely wasn’t,” Techno told him.
“Holy shit, I get it now,” Tommy whispered, and Wilbur could just make out the outline of his glowing face in the reflection of Tommy’s eyes. “You’re an alien!”
or, Wilbur wakes up in a ditch with two brothers shining a flashlight on his face, and no memories of who he is or how he got there. And that's only the start of the weird shit.

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

I loved this a bit too much. The "Tommy finding out about the bet and it breaking his heart" thing, while laughably predictable, was gut-wrenching and upsetting. A character taking ten steps back in their personal journey to become better/heal is always a good knife in the stomach that makes you beg to find out what happens next, and you get to do so here! Perfect oneshot.
