In the godswood, the snow was deep, fresh from the storm that had swept through over the last few days, nearly tall enough to reach his own waist, and her footsteps where more like wells in the snow, the walls collapsing to give way to her legs, her hips. He followed the path she’d made for him, chilled in his cloak with not enough layers beneath it, and when he finally saw her he swore under his breath.
This woman would be the death of him, surely. Without cloak or blanket, without shoe or stocking, looking like some kind of southron god in her white nightdress and her pale hair out of its daily braid.
