SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4 PART 1!
—————To be fair, Lloyd didn’t expect his greatest enemy to be himself. And he didn’t expect to lose the fight and fail his trial.
Well, he didn’t necessarily fail his trial. He won-- in a spiritual sense, in a modern sense. Traditionally, however, he definitely lost that trial. And if Lloyd always stuck to the old ways and upheld those beliefs over everything else, the universe probably would be destroyed right about now.
He kinda had given up a long time ago.
It might’ve been when he ran away from Darkley’s in pursuit of being a different kind of evil, or when he threw that Tomorrow's Tea down and sped up his fate and his path, or more recently when he attempted to nurture Arin’s newfound talents with a kind of Spinjitzu never performed before.
“The keyword in that last one was attempted.”

Summary
Lloyd’s body cried for him to sit down and rest, but Lloyd ignored it. He could rest peacefully knowing that Arin was content with his loving, happy family, one Lloyd was not a part of. He could rest peacefully knowing Sora was content with her friends’ achievement of finding his parents so she could join their family, too, because she and Arin were like brother and sister.
“You don’t look so good there, buddy.” A voice snapped Lloyd out of his thoughts.
It was Jay.

“I’m Ash--” Ash stopped himself, remembering who he was to the world. “Ash… Pallet! Not to be confused with the monarch! Yeah!” Ash said as Pikachu face-palmed. He couldn’t tell people that he was the youngest champion, monarch, person who was offered a brain frontier title, stopped the Kalos Crisis, and met all of the legendaries, mythicals, and ultra beasts, right?

Using the Source Dragon’s power and being ‘blessed’ with visions by the Source Dragons causes something Lloyd in ways he didn’t expect. Source Dragons did say they experience time differently. Unfortunately, Lloyd didn't know they meant this differently.

Callum immediately knew something was wrong with him as soon as he got closer to Aaravos’ prison. He felt his mind become more scrambled. His heart felt like something was tugging it, begging it to come closer to the prison.
It was as if it was calling to him, asking him to open it and release-

Aizawa Shota has seen him in action. Yet, Itadori still believes, truly, and completely, that he is quirkless.
So, with Tsukauchi at his side, he begins to pull at the loose threads, to unravel the web of Itadori’s lies.
But truth, he would come to learn, was not always a kindness.

In which Callum finds a new spell, accidentally sends himself way further back in time than he meant, and realizes he brought a little brother and fiancé there with him. This becomes an even bigger pain when they have a bit of a selfless compulsion in regards to other lives, past and future.
Granted, when your father's fated to die in four days, there aren't many who'd wait around and let it happen.
