One of tryingthisfangirlthing/Rinari7's prompts was:
"For some reason one of them being a proud sentient beast that is traditionally ridden, and the other a hapless rider, is quite funny to me. "A Horse and His Boy" might be the template here, or some sort of shapeshifting."
And it kicked off in me the question "what if one of them was a dragon?", so that's what I went with. Unfortunately then life intervened and so at the moment the story is only half finished - but I will write and post the rest as soon as I am able to!

Okay, so @beringandwellsturnedme's reaction to this Tumblr post made some ideas bounce around in my head, and they shaped (vaguely) into a narrative full of whump - which I don't write often, but hey, you never know where the muse takes you. We're REALLY talking whump here: content warnings for blood mention, torture mention, major injuries, hospitals, bloody rampage - it's all in there. So, tread carefully, please.

From the moment I realized that Helena totally would fuck a clone of herself (or three), I’ve been meaning to write a story about that. Then winged-mammal came out with an incredible gangbang fic, and my thoughts went places. Once again, I have written completely self-indulgent smut; hope you enjoy :D
Please heed the tags; I know this kind of smut might not be everyone’s cuppa, and that’s totally fair. I’ve tried to be as comprehensive as I can – if you run into something that you wish I’d have tagged, let me know, though.

“Myka, I hope you’ll forgive me for asking so bluntly, but have you been whammied?”
Myka laughs, just the once, quite devoid of humor. “I wondered that myself, but, no. I checked. No, this is… This has other reasons.” She sucks in a breath. “I just needed to get out. For a while.”
Out – of where? The Warehouse? That would certainly be a desire that Helena understands. When it becomes clear that Myka has no intention to elaborate further, Helena says, “Well, in that case I’ll simply say I’m glad that you chose to come this way.”
Or: what happens when two titans of 90s lesbian music collaborate and it just grips me, decades later, that this is a Bering and Wells song.
This is my 100th fic, delivered on the eve of H.G. Wells' birthday. I am very proud. Edited to add: my many thanks to Anandabrat for her help with this story! <3

Summary
We were talking on Discord about how a D/s dynamic between Bering and Wells might look, and while a lot of things point towards Myka Domming, Lesbian Mouse suggested gentle Domme Helena as an alternative. I liked that prompt, and this is what came out.
This fic takes part in a vague post-canon world where the two of them live together. It is, so far, very much *not* about sex, but about Helena taking care of an absolutely exhausted Myka. I can also see sexytimes happening in this fashion, but for that, Myka is going to need a good night's sleep first XD But hey, maybe a part two, eh?
Edited to add: chapter two is now up, and it is *exactly* what you think it is.

So this morning, lilolilyrae posted this video on Tumblr and tagged it as "fanfic idea". And it made me think of Pratchett (because of course), in particular his novel Maskerade: "Leading tenor died? Then appeal to the audience for any student of music who knew the part, and give him his big chance while his predecessor's body cooled gently in the wings."
And then it made me think of opera (Salzella voice: "OPERA!"), because I'm a nerd.
And *then* it made me think of hosenrollen.
And then this happened.
Please be patient with me regarding technical terms for opera, singing, stage tech etc.
(No sopranos were hurt in the making of this fic.)

And then, finally, finally, images that aren’t mine: Bering has given herself to the drift. They are impossibly detailed, that’s the first thing I notice; mine are blurry little things next to hers, with only one or two focused spots. It’s blessing and curse, I know this immediately; Bering’s recall must be incredible, but it doesn’t afford her the softening that comes with time, the mercy of forgetting.
Her pain is still every shred as vibrant as the day she lost her co-pilot.
But burning almost brighter still is her anger. Cold, blistering fury, and most of it is directed at me.

I've been tossing this idea around and around in my head - what if they had superpowers - and this is what I got. This story is unfinished and probably won't be - until someone comes up with a really great idea in the comments? You'll see when you get there, I think, why I left it where I left it.

Helena checked her watch. She did not swear, she did not purse her lips, she did not give any sign of how her pulse had just jumped. “Eight hours and twenty-two minutes.”

Pure, self-indulgent smut. Contains quite a lot of penetration, within an established, loving D/s relationship, in a playroom that Helena built for the two of them (because of course she did). Not quite a Kinktober fic, because I didn't set out writing it for that, but timely anyway. :)
Takes place in a happy post S5-future, in which all of their issues have been resolved between them.
Does NOT contain: degradation, S/M, impact play or harsh pain play (some gentle biting at most), mistress/slave dynamics.
DOES contain: gentle Domming, happy subbing, lots of praise and mutual affection, and loving aftercare.
First chapter is setup that describes the contents of the playroom and establishes their dynamic, and does not contain any smut. Subsequent chapters will alternate between their POVs, so that you can choose if you want to read Domme!Myka’s POV only (2nd person), sub!Helena’s POV only (1st person), or both. I will upload one of each, to give you an idea of what is to come!
