I FORGOT A SUMMARY AHHHHH
Someone targeting the Commission isn’t anything new, with them being such a large pillar in society that promotes Heroes; occasionally, they have to replace the windows or lawn if an attack is bad enough. Maybe hire a few staff members to replace lower-ranking employees who did nothing but show up to work that day. A building can be rebuilt, new people hired, and money had never been an issue to the HPSC with all of the public support it gets. But this isn’t that, it isn’t just a matter of replacing some glass or buying new trees- the Commission is currently more like an active demolition zone than a proud government building.
This isn’t just a targeted attack, it's angry- furious even, a wrath proven right and twice as deadly for it. This attack is a message.

Summary
He’s never cried this much in his life, never thought he had a legitimate reason to, never even considered that he ever would. Something heavy and warm closes around his throat, clasping with a small click and Darius makes a self-satisfied noise. His hands shoot out to grab at the fabric, to tear it away from him, but hesitate when instead of brushing fine silk they find cotton. It’s high quality, as expected because this is Darius’ cloak, but it's so different from the Golden Guard cape that his hands grip the fabric tighter instead of ripping it from his throat. The weight of it is both a painful reminder and a terrible comfort.
Then, softly, “I’ll take care of it, so please stop fighting me.”
Looking at the man is difficult, but Hunter manages it. He looks very serious, like he's in a meeting or negotiating for something important. It almost makes his laugh; why would Darius need any amount of agreement from Hunter?
“I promise.”
He didn’t ask Darius to, but maybe that’s what makes him believe it more.

“That’s not fair,” Bad protests. Dream raises an eyebrow at him and jerks his tied hands in emphasis, clearly saying that none of this is fair.
“Look, you keep running! Who runs if they’re not guilty?” Bad challenges, staring him down with obvious distrust from the generous distance of exactly five feet. It’s fair, as much as Dream hates to admit it; it’s not like he’s been the most honest hostage in the past, with all of his escaping and running and framing himself for his own murder, apparently.
“Only the good die young, and only the guilty run,” Technoblade chimes in, holding his own potato and sitting in the snow like it’s not cold at all.
A hot flash of irritation burns through him.
“Someone being chased?” he counters sarcastically, jerking his tied wrists up again to wave them in front of the group. Sapnap laughs so hard that he almost chokes on his potato, but it dies off when Dream gives him an icy stare.
Or: Dream is having a hard time, and the hunter just want to adopt him like a stray puppy that bites you at every opportunity.

“Okay, so,” Tommy begins as he kick his legs idly, socked feet sliding against the metal floor panels almost silently, “first, we’re gonna kill someone-”
Tommy is impulsive and eager, and Tubbo isn't. It's going to be hard, he thinks, but it is what it is. Still, he attempts to guide Tommy down a different trail of thought, trying to come up with a plan that won't have everyone shooting them out of the airlock within mere minutes of putting it into action.
“We need their trust before we stab them, I think,” he interrupts, cocking his head at the other from his higher vantage point. Tommy peers up at him, rolling his eyes even as Tubbo watches him think it over and accept it as a good idea. His partner, however impulsive, is far from stupid.
“Sure, fine , whatever- let's sabotage then, yeah?”
Or: Tommy and Tubbo are imposters on Wilbur's ship, but they end up being really bad at hurting anyone <3

Summary
Still, even as he hears the pre-games parade marching through the streets, he can’t imagine being this excited to see young nobles from all over the world throw each other out of the sky or just beat each other to death. It’s a little hard to watch, really, even though he hasn’t actually had to see the stupid little cookies with his likeness painted on them in frosting.
Yet.
Glory to the victors is an understatement here, he muses as he finally turns away from the window to refocus on his book. He can hear the knocks of the servants as they come by to get the others ready for the parade. No one touches his door, not even to jiggle the knob; they know that he hears them, just as he did last year and the year before that.
Sometimes, he wonders if all of the empty rooms after the games bother the people who live here like it does him.
Or: Technoblade leaves his family and finds a better one with the other people who actually treat him well, but not before I put him through a lot of stuff he doesn't deserve <3

Summary
Conner had a pretty good life, all things considered. He wouldn't necessarily call it a great life, but it was good enough.
Sure, living alone at Mount Justice with only a robot for company could get lonely sometimes, but he had his independence, his freedom from Lex, and his teammates on Young Justice.Unfortunately, no matter how content he was with his life, he could never quite shake the way he ached for Superman's approval. The way his insides twisted when his mistakes were met with harsh words and punishing hands. The way jealousy sunk its claws in deep every time he had to watch Superman and Jon interact. Still, he had a pretty good life, and that was all he needed.
But when an accident ends with Conner being thrown through a wall and Superman learning that his clone isn't quite as tough as he seems, that pretty good life comes crashing down around his shoulders. Superman insists these changes are for the best, that he's trying to make amends and help, but Conner isn't so sure. Not that anybody ever seemed to care what he thought.
At least Jon had a pretty cool video game collection. Maybe living with the Kents wouldn't be so bad.
