His protest petered off into the now eerily silent room, and Qifrey didn't need to turn to know that his apprentices were now hanging on to their every word. You could practically see him physically concede, but the smile that lit up his face said all there really was to say.
“Alright Olly, it really does sound wonderful.” Finally, stubborn idiot. “Where might we be going?”
Olruggio almost grinned. “We’re off to Ghodrey.”
Following the successful removal of Qifrey’s Silverwood, Olruggio takes him and the apprentices on a well-deserved holiday to his hometown of Ghodrey. Healing, comfort, and plenty of fluff ensues.

Qifrey meant to say he was fine, that he was just remembering their days as apprentices, that Agott was settling in well, or even that Olly was so good with her.
What he actually said was, “What if she drowns in the bath?”

Summary
The cycle was always the same. Olruggio discovered the truth, Qifrey started to turn into a tree, Olruggio would beg to save him, Qifrey took his memories to stay alive. The never ending cycle continued.
But what if it didn't have to?
what if Qifrey could give Olruggio some part of the truth? Enough so Olly knew that he cared, that there was a reason for there situation. But not enough for the Silverwood to feed on the relief and love the full truth would give Qifrey.
It's a terrible idea. Qifrey knows this, and yet... how can he not try.

What if Qifrey reveals just enough to not die?

Summary
He has no doubt that if there were a witch who could cure him, it would be Coco. The kindest, brightest witch of her generation. And if only they had more time, maybe Qifrey could be saved by that brilliance, like so many others have been. Like he knows so many more will be.
But he’s always had rotten luck, hasn’t he?
Qifrey runs out of time after the girls' third test. Coco and Olruggio aren't going to sit idle about it.
