Dante throws his hand in the air to dismiss the claim that’s so theatrical no one else could make it but his twin brother.

Vergil (sorta) moves in with Dante, who is set on making it permanent. He struggles hard to open up and Dante (POV) struggles equally hard trying to get him to feel safe.
Also they fuck in demon form. Aggressively. (But with consent! Dante wants to be very clear that he isn't doing something Vergil doesn't want! Which means communication again. Oh Oh.)So vividly written and with such emotional understanding.

After many years of not seeing eachother, working on different sides of the war and finally working together on the same side once again, Cid and Nero are faced with their own relationship as the bond they had created as teens had never been broken. Once immediate danger is out of the way, the fact that Nero have been slipping into heat the entire time takes over their focus.
But it's just a temporary truce, after all. Nero leaves anyway, Cid needs to keep working, and both of them are still too stubborn to ever break their bond.

Summary
He’s heard about it, from other subs who went through it, an aftermath, a body ravaged by greed.
Nothing they’ve told him holds a candle to it. A part of him—already broken, hardly mended—breaks again, the longer he stays there, in between Vash and Legato. His body shakes as he tries to anchor his thoughts. His insides hurt; his skin is rubber stretched too thin. Everything in him bangs against a cage.
But because Vash and Legato were experienced in their ways, because they knew him—in their own ways—they’re able to get him back to his body; to make his heart beat a tune that wasn’t so melancholic. They were able to make it so that Nai was Knives again—not the scared kid who didn’t want to lose his brother.
Once he settles down, he sneaks a glance at Vash, who remains silent, the weight of his hand around Knives’ thighs to ground him.
Vash hadn’t talked to him afterwards. When they were done and Knives was safe, Vash had left again.

School-years Cid and Nero crashes their plane-thing in the woods and has to spend the night despite pouring rain. Cid is surprised to find out that Nero is quite capable when it comes to surviving without modern luxeries of the city. Nero pines so hard it's almost painful.
It wasn’t until he was done, stirring the pot of theoretical soup with his knife tip, that Nero looked over and realised that Cid was goggling at him, blue eyes obnoxiously wide, mouth half-open, the onion caught tipping up against the back of his front teeth. He blinked.
“You look stupid,” Nero said at last, sitting back on his haunches slightly. He felt embarrassed, making what would probably be almost inedible soup, wearing nothing but his drawers, his hair a mess of curls, while the smartest, most talented person he’d ever met watched him like he had just invented a new engine. He wanted Cid to pay attention to him; to realise that Nero was (almost) as good as he was, but he didn’t...want Cid to pay attention to him right now. He wanted Cid to pay attention to him when he was figuring out how to decode Allagan scripts or backwards engineering Cid’s illegible building work. The whole point was that Nero was amazing for what he could do and how brilliant he was: not that he could make a shitty pot of soup.

Wolfwood chuckles to himself, but doesn’t push further. He draws away, and with it, Knives can finally breathe. The tension falls slack, and he slips a few inches on the bar stool. His hand drags his face to cover whatever terrible expression the alcohol prevents him from hiding.
This is exactly what Vash would want for him, isn’t it? A chance at an honest connection.
‘A friend,’ Vash had grinned, energy so very contrary to Nai’s insistent pout. ‘It couldn’t hurt, Nai. Give it a chance.’
Though he’s pretty sure the unspoken erection pressed up against his thigh leads them a little further than what a typical friendship would permit.
“One more round, then I’ll get the tab, boss. But after–” Wolfwood’s breath pitches lower. Hopeful. "Take me home will ya?"

Guts is an apostle - a beast slaughtering everything in its way and only living trying to find the best, most worthwhile fight - before even meeting Griffith, who he had set out to kill. Seeing his face, something made him hesitate for the first time. Griffith asks him to stay and fight at his side. And more curious than bloodthirsty - also for the first time - he manages to put the beast on a leash for the time being, at least until he's figured out more about this feeling.
As time goes on and the feeling grows deeper on both sides, Griffith becomes more and more dependent on Guts, emotionally as much as in a fight.
When Guts realize that Griffith is the owner of the red behelith he also realises that the sorta happy life he has somehow created for himself isn't meant to last. Because fate will always tug you right, and Griffith was fated to be broken down beyond all hope before he could become truly his best. And it seems like that will never happen as long as Guts remains by his side, which means Guts gets the choice to live selfishly or let Griffith realise his full potential. Wolfwood finds Knives post-July, far from his former glory, and because he is a bit too good of a person be takes him with him and cares for him. Knives, it turns out, has never really been treated so gently and something inside him melts at the attention. They end up in a deserted farmhouse by themselves.
"He was too good for you.” Knives bares his pointy maw at him and Wolfwood rolls his eyes.“Yeah. Yeah, he was.” Because it’s the truth, it’s the truth Wolfwood has known and lived with ever since those tiny inklings of something dangerous appeared in his heart. Because Vash would have never been his, because Wolfwood wasn’t good enough, because Nico wasn’t enough no matter how much Vash would deny it.
“But I’m not.” Knives turns his frown into a glare, fierce and determined.
Plants are extremely uncanny, drinks blood and body morph. Knives has no shame when he wants someone.

Legato is at a drinking party getting wasted off his ass when Vash's mysterious twin brother makes an appearance and it's love at first sight. Or lust, at the very least. And Knives is autistic and uncomfortable but at least a bit too decent to let Legato go die from alcohol poisoning in a ditch, so he brings him home to sleep.
Which leads to getting propositioned, and taking Legato up on it because he wanna lose his v-card, and getting about halfways there because they are a mix of drunk and inexperienced.
(Knives still gives him his number)Written with a natural humor that makes it a joy to read and nice character interactions

Wolfwood is relegated to doing the shifts no one else wants, which means spending his nights cleaning around the tank of the weirdest (and possibly oldest?) plant they got, the one that seems oddly conscious and very aggressive to the point it's been tauntingly named "Millions Knives". He can't help but talk to it, both for his own loneliness sake and because he can't help but feel something isn't right about it. It seems too intelligent, too aware. Slowly they start to develop some kind of friendly relationship as he grows empathic for the plant that looks more like a human than a plant and the terrible way it's treated, with pain and constant draining of powers to keep it under control. Something snaps into place when he finds the plant one day in a painful heat, scientists trying to artificially impregnate it but failing... For now. It's only a matter of time before they try again. (And well, if he mess up with the power controls and the plant suddenly regains its full power, it's not like it's the first time he messes up, right?)
Obsessed with this au, everything that isn't quite said but is hinted in the worldbuilding. Also everything that IS said and that Knives worst fears came true.
