Summary
Several months ago, a group of Heroes rescued a troubled boy from a Port Mafia compound. Of course, that boy is actually Dazai and – whether he's actually been caught, or this is one of those times where he gets purposefully captured for reasons he hasn’t bothered to explain – it's Chuuya's job to go and get him. Which would be easier if the Heroes hadn't decided the safest place for a Port Mafia rescuee is UA. Luckily, Chuuya's just made friends with a Europole agent who's willing to bend some rules to keep Chuuya safe from the assassin who considers him family.
Now, Chuuya just has to figure out which pieces Dazai wants on the board and where, while making sure no one realises they know each other, and making sure not to get attached. What could go wrong?

This is such an amazing fic! The outsider pov is really stimulating for my brain. It's so fun to try to figue out what is as in canon, what changed, why things are as they are. What really is Chuuya and Dazai's deal. The characterisation is also so spot on, for literally everyone. I'm gonna be so hinest when i say that endevour's pov really was a sucker punch, with the way he feels so realistic, and like an actual good guy. Absolutely fascinating. Bakugo is also so fun to observe in this AU, what with the way Chuuya is playing him. And Dazai's so terrible oh my. Someone get this boy to therapy. Or not. With him as is therapists will have much more patients what with all the people he leaves in the wake of his little games.

Chuuya knew better than to hope for more than he should. He learned this lesson painfully and tragically. He lost many things along the way, whether by someone’s hands or by fate. He wants to laugh hysterically or scream until he’s hoarse. He wants to drink until he’s blackout or cry until there’s no more tears to shed. But all he feels is numbness.
When Dazai leaves the Port Mafia, Chuuya loses more than his partner. Something so precious. It disappears on that rainy night.
