Cedric Diggory hates Harry Potter.
He hates the smug smile, the immaculate green-and-silver tie, the old ring on his finger, and the way Harry walks through Hogwarts as if the castle itself had been built only to carry him from one audience to the next.
Harry Potter is arrogant, cruel, beautiful in an infuriating sort of way, and absolutely impossible to ignore.
In a world where Voldemort never existed, Harry is not the Boy Who Lived. He is only the Potter heir: rich, brilliant, Slytherin, and terribly accustomed to winning. Cedric, Hufflepuff’s golden boy, should despise him easily.
The problem is that hatred, at least, is a respectable form of attention.
And Cedric has been paying attention for far too long.

Yuuji’s grandfather is burning when the strangest man he’s ever met asks him to choose his hell.
“Will it be you?” Yuuji asks. “The one to kill me.”
There’s a brief pause before the response. “Probably. I wouldn’t entrust Sukuna’s vessel to anyone else, certainly not at full power.”
Something twinges in Yuuji’s chest at the assumption there. A duller clench follows—not quite guilt.
“No,” he says, finally looking up. “I mean now.”
Even with the blindfold—worth a sharp flare of confusion each time he looks at Gojou—Yuuji can tell Gojou’s surprised. He can see it twist into a frown too, and it’s somehow a kinder expression than all his smiles have been.
“Definitely then,” Gojou tells him. “I’m already here anyway. Just so we’re clear—you’re choosing to die now?”
When told to choose his hell, Itadori Yuuji picks the easier one—a clean death, then and there. He couldn’t have known that it was never really a choice.
Or: Gojou Satoru kidnaps a teenager, supposedly for his own good.
