"Proud fool," Gimli muttered, stalking along as fast as his short legs would allow. "Should never have let him continue on this quest. You never should have let him join us to begin with!" He gave another accusatory look to Aragorn.
"Had I known he was with child, I might not have!" Aragorn snapped, stabbing his walking stick into the ground and continuing on, watching Legolas's back ruefully.

“You…” Jisung swallowed hard. Minho’s scent had changed. It had always been sweet, thick, pregnant — but now it was different. Sharper. Deeper. There was a new note in it that made the alpha’s shoulders tense instinctively and his heart race. “You smell… different.”
Minho froze. He breathed in himself — and felt it. Not just his own scent. Something else. Thin, almost elusive, but unmistakable. It was the way pups smelled when they were ready to come out. He remembered that scent from when Felix had let him sniff the newborns’ blankets so he’d know what to expect.
“Fuck,” he whispered. Fear crashed over him like an icy wave, followed immediately by steely resolve. “Fuck, Jisung. It’s starting.”
