Summary
Being Quirkless in U.A. Academy isn’t rare. The General Studies courses are quite impressive. Kaidou Shun likes his teachers, his friends, and the bragging rights he holds over every other Quirkless person he knows. That would be enough to hold the average individual, but Kaidou’s insistence to create a name for himself – a hero name at that – puts the comfortable normalcy of his life at U.A. Academy at risk.
Unlike Midoriya Izuku, Kaidou has the single joint in his pinky toe. Just no Quirk to claim along with it; until there is one. One walk changes his life. A run-in with a villain triggers Kaidou’s manifestation in a violent, terrifying moment of pure dark energy.
All at once every story he had been carefully cultivating about the legendary Jet Black Wings, and bullied over, becomes more and more concrete. Including the awakening of Dark Reunion. He’s separated from his U.A. General Studies class, placed into the Hero’s course, and told all at once that there is no way in hell Kaidou makes it to graduation. A Quirk so powerful in a body too weak to control it is too dangerous to become a hero.
As though that had ever stopped Kaidou before.
