Summary
“Are you gonna skip your last sets?” Let asks, not budging from her spot, but instead crossing her arms.
“Can't leave my best girl waitin’-”
Her heart flushes hot at those words. Still she keeps from getting caught up in that loping adoration and sits up a little straighter, crossing her arms across her chest in a line that almost mirrors the one her lips are set into.
”It’s bad form to use your ‘best girl’ as an excuse to slack off-“
“‘ey now-”

Aletris and Jasper deal with the aftermath of a workout that gets a little too frisky.

Summary
He knew he’d need you.
She feels it like a wound she’d never known she had - like she feels blood still on her skin, under her nails, between her teeth. Her senses swim, around the truth she has to accept to believe those words – and it is an unkind one. It is a tidal wave that is coming back, and she hasn’t fled to higher ground. It will crash, and it will take her with it.
And maybe to drown would not be so bad.

The truth is not delivered through liars.

Summary
He looks from their hands up her arm, where even through her jacket he’s certain he can feel them, those same dark marks climbing up to her neck where they plainly wrapped around it.
Each one like a hand print, their fingertips dark where they had tried to dig in. Where Necron had taken hold and tried to pull each of them into a place so cold, Lawyn still felt frigid across his skin where he’d been touched.
---
Aletris, Jasper, and Lawyn face the aftermath of the battle with Necron - and the creeping onset of the last Division they'll have with the Arcadion.

“You picked a good time to be out - it’s going to be a big one today,” says one stallkeeper, and Aletris peers at him curiously.
“Big one?”
“Oh yes,” he gestures up at the sky. “Can tell from the weather. Too calm. It’s going to come down like mad come afternoon.”

“I never knew they could sound like that…” she murmurs.
“Maybe ‘cause it's…y’know…dif’rent?”
The linkpearl came from outside of the Dome - just as she had, two oddities that had appeared only a few months prior. It was chance that both she, and it, had been able to integrate into the framework of Alexandria.

Summary
“This is from when Hector died.”
He slips it in to give her some footing to her thoughts, watching her eyes go from the scar hidden beneath a shirt and up to his face. The question in it is silent, but there. Hesitant to overstep more than is offered. It is worn so plainly he could touch it if he was brave. But he doesn't feel brave right then.

Summary
The Brute Bomber had come into the Golden God’s heaven, torn him from his throne, and left him bloodied and broken at his feet.
He throws his head back with a laugh, dark but full, as the silence becomes an uproar of upset. Metem’s voice is but a reverberation as the ringing in his blood focuses upon her - Aletris Arkwright. His second. The one who had been in his arms when he’d woken that morning, her flesh against his as they’d kissed each other in greeting of the day and she’d soothed down his nerves with her smiles and laughter. Adrenaline and Feral Heat circle her in his eyes and in his skin.
It still tucks itself underneath his skin, just between his body and his true soul when it settles again. Between the aches of a shape twisted out of form and the lingering internal heat of that unnatural form.
He was the King. He was the King

”Y’got what is more important t’ya. I get it. If it’d been Let I’d not have given’ ya th’choice.”
Asteria laughs, patting his chest one more time. She looks back to her son as Jasper gives the downed machine one more long look. The protective mother had rampaged and it empowered her to such feats. Or maybe something else granted her such strength.
“Do ya think she’ll be like ya in another fourteen years?” Jasper asks.
The question is met with silence, Asteria’s eyes softening as they travel through time in a way his cannot - a blessing and a curse of Alexandria.

“Take me to bed, B,” she murmurs, pressing her face into his ear. She can feel his entire body tense at the request. In the three weeks since that first kiss, they’d nearly crossed that line more than once, just to back away again. She was so tired of being full of want. “Focus just on me for the night.”

Summary
It had been several weeks since the last time she'd cried out of a want for her mother. For her brother.
Two years and counting.
He is patient as the feeling, and weeping, drains from her.
“Sorry,” she sniffles an apology as she pulls away from him, rubbing her nose with the heel of her hand. She's careful to not snot up the sleeve of his jacket.
He takes the collar and uses it to wipe her eyes.
“Ain't nothing.”

All she had to do was fix it.

Summary
“Better?” she asks, once she’s all but stuffed an entire meal into him, one creeping movement to straddle his lap at a time, leaving her nearly face to face with him now.
“Yeah,” he says, settling his arms around her and pulling her in close. “Yer too good to me, Let,” he murmurs, burying his face into the crook of her neck.
She lays her cheek against his forehead. “That better not be a ‘but’ or ‘and’ statement, B,” she says, settling her arms around his neck as he huffs a half laugh into her.

I got nothing. It's smut. Pure and simple.
