Everybody has two soulmates whose names appear on their wrists. Sirius gets his first mark when he is only 5 years old, and his family is not pleased by the name. His mother forces him to cover it, and Sirius, at only 5 years old is too young to remember what it says.
When Sirius gets to Hogwarts he decides that maybe he doesn’t want a Romantic soulmate anyway. So the name on his wrist is getting more stressful yet less important.
And yet Sirius finds himself falling

Sirius Black is wizarding royalty, or at least he was until he walked away from his pureblood family to follow his own path in life. After travelling the world and pursuing a career in Magizoology he now finds himself working at one of the highest-ranked centres for magical creatures in the Wizarding world.
Their first meeting makes sparks of disdain crackle between them and it seems unlikely that anything, not even the old magic of Edinburgh, will be enough to bridge over the reality of who they are and where they come from.

When Sirius’s estranged brother Regulus dies, he leaves behind an unconventional will: a handwritten list of places to visit, people to see, and a single note saying “For when you’re ready to know me.”
The first line simply reads:

It’s been almost seven years since Sirius last saw Remus—his university flatmate, best friend, and the almost-love he ran from. Now, with regret tightening in his chest and nothing left to lose, Sirius reaches out. Remus agrees to go with him. Just for the first stop, he insists. But some roads don’t end where they think they will.
As they follow Regulus’s trail across the UK through rainy motorways, strange inns, and memories they buried a long time ago, what began as obligation becomes something else entirely.
The final stop is a lighthouse at the edge of the world. And neither of them is ready for what they’ll find there.

Summary
At five-years old, Remus Lupin is kidnapped by Pirate Captain Fenrir Greyback and thrown aboard a ship full of thieves and murderers. Over the years, Remus earns his reputation as a formidable navigator - never speaking in public, and always keeping his face covered by a mask.
One thing is certain: there is no one who hates Remus more than wealthy aristocrat, Sirius Black.
When Remus flees Greyback's ship and tries to forge a new life for himself, it's just his luck that Sirius finds him there too. But Sirius has never seen Remus' face. He doesn't know of Remus' true identity - that 'Moony' is the same pirate he considers his enemy.
To survive, Remus must hide who he really is, even if it means suffering the company of a man he'd rather kill.
