Summary
Schlatt returns from twenty years in limbo to a world where not even one full year has passed since his death. The world has changed drastically in the months since his presidential reign and he's found himself stuck in a deal he can't remember making, forced to work with the newly-budding country of Las Nevadas. Despite his claims that his actions are no longer dictated by emotion, Viktor is still harboring anger and hatred for his exile in the wake of Jinx's attack, and blames Jayce for what happened. But despite it all, they still care about each other (in their own violent, traumatized ways) and as time runs out, necessity forces them to face the past—and each other—if they want to get out of this unscathed.

Tommy wasn’t sure what he had been anticipating when he broke into Techno’s house. Maybe he was expecting his brother to kill him on sight, lodging a crossbow arrow straight between his eyes. Maybe he was expecting to be dragged back to exile, cursing and screaming the whole way. Mostly, he was just hoping that Techno wouldn't be home. Tommy had a half-baked plan to hide out in the piglin’s basement, squirreling away gapples and supplies until he could figure out something better.
He hadn’t even considered that Techno could be hibernating.
Or: Tommy has just escaped exile. What better place to hide than the house of his hibernating older brother?

Stiles stumbles upon the ruins in the Preserve by accident his freshman year of High School. He’s running away from the assholes on the Lacrosse team because for some asinine reason where the popular kids had ignored him in Middle School, they decided to bully him in High School. They chase him all the way to the edge of the Preserve with Lacrosse sticks and banana pudding cups.
The one where the sheriff is an abusive father after his wife died. And Stiles finds refuge, first in the Hale house, then in the only surviving Hale.
