“No one else is here,” Nat says. “Now, mind telling me why you’re acting so weird? What’s with the secrecy?”
Shauna gives in, letting go of her tense stance with a shrug to her shoulders. She bites her lower lip lightly. “I have a favor to ask you.”
Nat gives a pointed look as if to say spit it out already.
Shauna sighs roughly and closes her eyes for a moment, as if preparing herself for what she’s about to say.
“I need you to date Misty. Or at least pretend to.”
When Jackie’s parents tell her that she isn’t allowed to date anyone until Misty Quigley does, Shauna decides to take drastic measures.

Misty hurries to keep pace with her. “I’ll come with you!” she says. “Wanna share a ride? Or go somewhere else? You know, really, the night’s only just getting started.”
Nat huffs some strands of hair out of her face. “Yeah? Well, good luck with that. My night’s over.”
Misty frowns. There’s something…off with her tone of voice tonight. Something too steady in that expression. Determined. Set.
