Sam steps around the island, grinning, “Hey, man! I made spaghetti to thank everyone for the warm welcome. Want me to make you a plate?”
Warm? Welcome?
For the guy who lied to a room full of bureaucrats who were ready to fire Chimney over it?
A clink of silverware hitting porcelain drags Buck’s confused glare back to the table, as four other sets of silverware follow after it. Like a wind chime of betrayal, ringing the bitter song of the 118’s treachery, their silverware sings with shame.
At least, that’s what it sounds like to Buck.

Summary
Do you love him?
Before Buck’s mind can formulate the undeniable answer in words, a burning sensation engulfs his forearm. For a split, irrational second, he thinks maybe he’s having a heart attack — but no, it’s the wrong arm, and the pain is too low anyway. He races over to his kitchen sink, planning to douse the flames in cold water, but when he looks down, he almost does have a heart attack.
Because there are two black bands maybe half an inch apart circling his forearm just below his elbow. Two black bands that definitely weren’t there when he left Eddie’s house fifteen minutes earlier.
“No,” Buck whispers, staring down at his arm in something like horror. “Oh, no.”
Because there’s only one thing it could be.
His soulmark.

Buck realizes Eddie's his soulmate when he told him he was moving to El Paso. As he was driving away from Eddie's after helping him all day with the realtor, he thought back about Josh's question. Do you care for him ? Are his concerns your concerns ? Is his happiness as important as yours ? Do you love him ? All yes, obviously. That's when his soulmark appeared.
Buck didn't say anything to Eddie because he didn't want to put himself between Chris and Eddie. Even when Eddie didn't want to leave and he told so to Buck.
The day Eddie left for El Paso. He realized why it felt like he was dying to leave LA, to leave Buck. He noticed a few weeks ago Buck's soulmark, he had a lot of complicated feelings about it. And in his car on his way to El Paso, he wishes he was Buck's soulmate. His soulmark appeared, distracting him from the road, causing him to crash.
Buck knew instantly that something was wrong. His soulmark was fading. He called 911 and rushed to Eddie. They went to the hospital where Buck waited for Eddie to wake up. When he did, Buck apologized for not saying anything, for causing the crash. That it was all his fault. Before Eddie could say anything, Buck left and never came back alone so they couldn't have a private talk.
Then Eddie's parents came with Chris. Chris said he wanted to come back and when Helena protested saying Eddie was all alone, Eddie said in front of everyone including Buck that he's as a soulmate and that he was going to stick around.
At home, a party was thrown for Eddie. His house was remade exactly like it was before the move. Buck's doing.
When everyone left. Eddie could finally talk. Buck apologized again saying he should have realized his feelings sooner, they were a lot of opportunities to do so. Eddie said he could have to. Buck complained about so much lost time and Eddie said they should waste anymore and they kissed and fucked.
Later Eddie said he wouldn't have changed anything about the timing of their soulmark because they kept choosing each other without knowing about their link, and Eddie thinks it means way more then a simple mark. -

Summary
An Eridian mining crew find a human welded into a stranded ship on the surface of a moon. They bring him back to Erid, to the only other human they know.
Something in Grace's chest flickered into life. He had buried it so long ago that he hardly knew what it was anymore, and so he took off his glasses and cleaned them on the edge of his cardigan, as if Rocky's words were a smudge he could clear away before finding the will to hope.
“Ah…” his words failed halfway out of his mouth. Rocky chittered at him, a little sound of encouragement. “There’s another human? Here. And… alive?”

Summary
Eddie simply cannot know that he is currently naked. That would be catastrophic.
“Um, I— did you need anything? I’m kind of in the middle of something,” Buck says, which. Okay. That did not sound convincing. He adds, “I can call you back in ten?”
“I thought you just woke up?” Eddie says, and, fuck— Buck did basically say that.
Carefully, he says, “I did.”
“So what were you—?”
God, this is mortifying. This might be the worst thing that’s ever happened to Buck, and he’s been caught in, like, four natural disasters. And also struck by lightning. And had a fire engine fall on him. He even dated (he shudders at the thought) Tommy Kinard.
“Eddie,” he says. He doesn’t know what else to say.
“What? If you need to pee you can just mute yourself.”
“Eddie, that’s not—”
“Then what?” Eddie laughs. “If you’re still in bed, you can’t ha— oh.”
Or: Buck answers the phone in the middle of jerking off. For some reason, Eddie asks him not to hang up.
