Tom Riddle is a gentleman. Intense, but nurturing and protective. Or perhaps possessive. The lines blur very quickly and Hermione is helplessly swept in the whirlwind.

Author's note: I wrote this as a prologue originally, it is the backstory to another, longer fic. I debated waiting to post this until the actual story was ready, but decided to do them separately. This is just a bit darker, so I thought they'd be better separate.
