Summary
Harry learned the Prophecy and decided he would do everything, ANYTHING, to kill Voldemort before the Dark Lord could kill anyone else he loved.
Dark Magic probably wasn't the best choice, but it lead to. This. Among other things. (Worse things, no, stop, don't THINK IT.)
A new world, one without magic. That wasn't to say there wasn't power at all; oh, no, it was everywhere! There were also the people who used it, the ninja, and the snakes that insisted on calling him 'Lord' (and, oh, did that feel right...) Now, if only the Konoha ninja would just STOP saying that he was related to someone named 'Orochimaru'...

Summary
There are worse things, to a person like me, to wake up after dying and discovering oneself in the not-enviable position as one of Orochimaru's experiments.
It gets better.
This world allows me a previously unobtainable level of personal freedom...and my new family is so very permissive. All I have to do is get strong enough to be able to keep that freedom. And yes, I probably should stay FAR away from the ninja and all the chaos I know they'll be stirring up, but what fun would that be?

The Winchesters are notorious for doing world-breaking things when they're separated.
Something like Sam being in Hell isn't going to stop him when he hears Dean, but slipping the Cage may have had consequences. Like finding himself back years before the Apocalypse started, with Lucifer as a constant companion.
This time, though, maybe he can do things right. Starting with keeping Dean out of Hell in the first place.
Foiling the plans of Heaven and Hell is something he's got practice with, and this time... This time he's got the Devil at his back.

Summary
Harry Potter -sometimes more and sometimes less- turned to Dark Magic to defeat the Dark Lord, and it didn't work exactly how he would have liked. The end result is a bit of a very permanent dimensional displacement, physical regression, and more than a few traits from an animal form that would literally make the people of the Wizarding World collectively shit themselves in terror. The ninja look at him and see a bit of a troublesome mystery, and then... Some will see him as a problem to be eliminated. Because Harry? Harry meddles.

The prompt was: hosting Lucifer started a physical change in Sam, held at bay first by lack of soul, then by lack of memories. As he comes back together, the change occurs very quickly. He grows wings.
Like Castiel's wings, they can't be seen, only their shadow. Dean thinks they're part of Sam's hallucinations.
