Then there’s the guy at the corner store. Quiet. Observant. Too kind for someone clearly mixed up in things Peter knows better than to touch.
It starts small. A conversation. A place to sit. Someone who looks at him like he’s still a person.
It doesn’t stay small.
Nothing in Peter’s life ever does.
