It was almost funny how she’d still consider him her best friend, even though she hadn’t said a word to him in years and she hadn’t seen him in-person in even longer and it was funny how much of her life she still gave him the credit for, because despite him being gone, Midoriya Izuku was still there in little ways.
And sometimes, still, when she lay awake at night in a bed she’d never shared with anyone else, she’d think about when he had kissed her back and when he’d asked her to come with him to America and she wondered what her life would have been like if she had said yes.
But she hadn’t and it didn’t matter, because Midoriya Izuku was gone and he had been gone for a long time and that was okay.
She was okay.
The funny thing about time and distance was that it muted those things.
