Summary
Steve raised a questioning brow. “You came all the way to…Loch Nora…so I could turn my walkie up…”
“Yeah, well,” She started, looking at everything but him. “You’re always on Dustin’s case about batteries and the walkies…figured you’d wanna know.”
“Uh huh.” Steve may have been foggy from his nap, but he wasn’t stupid. Her act of disinterest was just that. An act. She wouldn’t look at him for more than a few seconds before her gaze drifted down to her feet, then to the side bush, then back to him. Never quite looking him in the eye, more like glazing over him in general.
Which said a lot about the girl who looked monsters in the face and made grown men cry.

Summary
Debbie Addams nee Jellinsky did not die, instead, she decided to stay with Fester and start a family in between episodes of arson and murder attempts on her doting hisband. They had one kid before she decided she didn't want any more. That kid just so happened to be one Stefano Fester Addams, or as we know him, Steve Harrington.
The three move into their new home in Hawkins Indiana just as Steve is about to start middle school, and Steve, being the black sheep of the family, decides he wants to stay in Hawkins for a while and indulge in his deviancies of wanting to make some friends and play in team sports. His loving parents decide to leave him to it for a while while taking their 37th honeymoon to the Bermuda Triangle. Only the never come back. Steve knows they are still alive, as they haven't responded to any of the family seances, so he decided to live it up and lean into his deviancy by becoming popular, being a sports star, and date nice normal girls.
He is starting to get bored though. Thankfully Hawkins is a little more kooky, and dare I say it, Spooky than he'd first thought, and he finally gets to indulge in some family bonding time while hunting monsters.

Summary
When Vecna makes a last-ditch attempt to escape by resetting everything back to that first fateful night, he didn't realize that everyone killed by the hivemind would also come back with their memories. On the morning of Monday, November 7th, 1983, at least one third of Hawkins, two confused kids in California, and a dozen or so men in Russia and a few hundred soldiers and scientists from the US Army awoke from a series of horrific, impossible nightmares.
To most of them, they were a confused garble of nonsense, and they dismissed them. Eddie Munson was not most people.

Steve wakes up surrounded by people he is sure are dead.
Stuck in the mind flayer's mind prison, Steve tries to figure out what's going on. Why he's there and how he got there.“Can you die after death? Is he like- super dead?”
A female voice, sweet and whispered.
“No, honey. He’s just not back with us here yet.” It’s that first voice again. Calm, gestural.
“I’m going to kick his ass awake.”
God. He hopes not.
“Billy. Don’t.”
“Chrissy, I don’t care. We need to know what happened and what’s happening and only this jerk can tell us.”
“Man, we don’t even know if he really can.”
