I think that means I get to live? I’ll not look a gift horse in the mouth if so. I snort at the irony of the metaphor and I think I catch a smile on Atropos’s face as I do. “Quite the job interview, though I’m not exactly in a position to decline."

The end of Ragnarok had finally come as the last fight over the fate of humanity had come to a close.
Spectators from both sides looked on with belated breaths as they all watched. But, in the end, Brunhilde's efforts were not put to waste.
Humanity has won: they will continue on for the next thousand years.
Though there was one condition to this victory, as stated in the rule book. If humanity were to win (as was the case), the champions would collectively receive one wish that would be granted by the fates.
The wish the warriors choose, though, will shock Valhalla and a certain sea god.

Each breath sent pain shooting through his entire body, and the temptation to just lie down and be done with it was immense, but he couldn't. Not yet. He could see Vee Tower in the distance, his destination, what he was fighting so hard for.

He still tried to save himself, but Valentino used the new distraction to shake him off, doing so with ease. Monty screamed, and screamed, tried to fight Alastor off, but his struggle was futile.
Teeth finally sank into his throat, silencing him.
Valentino watched the scene unfold with little more than bored indifference, even as a chunk of flesh was spat at his feet.
