Summary
Scott finds out Avid is dead. Not too long after, Scott gains his freedom. Now living in New York in 2006, Scott, Shelby, and Drift visit Avid’s grave every year while also stopping by to say hi to Cleo and Pearl. One year, Scott decides to pay a visit earlier by himself just to talk to Avid one on one. He had things left unsaid that he would like to get out, even if it’s to the empty air.
Except this time, the air isn’t empty.

Summary
There is no doubt in Kaeya's mind that Diluc's heart broke on the night of his father's death. Smooth sharp lines like fractured ceramic, missing chips that will forever show the lumpy glue scars of its repair. Kaeya's left his own marks too. Some of those disjointed pieces are of his making. Maybe even most of them. He knows this without seeing it, and he knows too that over the years of Diluc's absence those pieces have most likely melded back into a single blemished whole ─ scabbed with time and distance.
He is wrong. There was never a whole to begin with.
