Summary
The crew probably doesn’t expect him to do well in this game, whatever it's going to be. They are, each of them, eyeing the sword in his hand as if they expect it to burn him.
Sanji knows he will do better than they expect. He’ll be able to hold his own, at least for long enough that Nami is able to get them out of this. Play the game and sword fight for a bit, then escape. It’ll be easy.
He takes a shaky breath.
Easy.
Sanji needs to play a little game to guarantee the crew's survival.

It's not that he forgot to tell them; Zuko simply thought everyone knew about how he got his scar. It's not something he likes to talk about, but he would have done it for them. He should have, given how they're reacting now.

Summary
Aziraphale really should have noticed earlier.
He'd always known that Crowley isn't like other demons. He cares about kids, he performs miracles as part of their Arrangement, and he has never seemed truly invested in furthering the plans of the executives Below. Yet, even after all these years together, it didn't occur to Aziraphale until recently that there was something else that sets Crowley apart: he isn't proud of his Fall. In fact, if the angel didn't know any better, he would say Crowley regrets it.
(Aka 5 times Aziraphale fails to notice Crowley's pain surrounding the Fall, and the 1 time he does).

Summary
It's not a linear process, this whole grieving thing. No; when dying, one tends to forget the set Kübler-Ross model. Sometimes anger comes after depression, sometimes begging comes after acceptance. Sometimes, Martin finds, emotions swoop in just as quickly as a tornado, and leave everything just as broken.

"I could tell you stories, Douglas."
Crossposted from the meme. Prompt:
I was bored and curious one night and wrote a fic that will never see the light of day, because it was basically a campy "what-if" crossover between CP and an original story of mine. But I wrote this one paragraph half-asleep and I'm in love with it, so your prompt is to take it and run. Gen, please! The paragraph can be found here.
