Summary
Trying to seek escape and relief from a world that sanitizes them, Jax and Zooble continue to find each other, over and over, to their initial dismay.
Over time, and in the heat of frustration post-awards ceremony, they find they may have something to offer each other. Something neither is interested in bringing to light, but neither can help coming back to.
Tensions are rising between everyone in the circus and Caine is becoming increasingly unhinged. Zooble is trying desperately to build meaningful relationships. Just how many secrets can they keep before it all falls apart?

“And when I do find you again out there, which I will,” she swears, “I’m going to beat you up for everything, and it will hurt and it will bruise because we’ll have real blood and actual bodies, and… and you’ll take it, because I’m going to get you back for all the hell you put me through."
Pomni takes in a breath.

Once Abel has gotten used to being in charge of the Circus, he summons the humans to the stage to explain how things are going to work around here now. He uses Caine to help explain *just* how different things are going to be.
Pomni never liked Caine all that much, but that doesn't mean she wants to watch him be *whipped* and *tortured*.
