Kit raises her ears, listening around the corner. The fur on the back of her neck stands up. With a flat thud, a thick metal door closes behind them. The lights flicker and switch off.
“Kit?” Kaboodle touches her hand. Kit nods and they transform into the Kibble Star Armour together.
Someone laughs just behind the corner. Malice.
Clang. Clang.
Something screams, and a horrible ripping sound cuts the scream short. Then silence. Only the sound of slow, wet chewing.
