"He told me, ‘I just can’t be with someone who acts more like a friend than a girlfriend.’” She scoffs. “What does that even mean?” Shouldn’t you want to be with someone who feels like a friend? I like it when my boyfriends feel like friends! It means I’m familiar with them! It means I can be comfortable with them!” Her hands drop to her lap, her expression suddenly alarmed. “Do I even like men?”
--For a moment, the world fades, and Jiseok forgets where they are. For that moment, it's just the two of them, Jungsu and Jiseok, in their own bubble with no one else. Jiseok's eyes wander around Jungsu's face. She feels her fingers and chest start to tingle, and warmth spreads across her face. Before they can bask in their bubble much longer, it's popped by Jungsu's name being called at the counter. They both jolt at the interruption and share a soft laugh. She can't help but look up and watch as Jungsu retrieves their drinks, and has one singular thought:
'Oh man, I'm screwed.'

"That was the night when I finally understood why people fear silence; it was deafening. I had never been claustrophobic, but in those few moments I felt the walls closing in on me, and I panicked. The air pressure felt like it was getting denser by the second. I started breathing faster, and my ears were silently ringing. The only sound was the clock ticking in the corner, which only seemed to make the silence more painful. After a long moment, there was a sound. I don't know if I should have been more scared of the silence, or the sound I heard. It was the dull thunk sound of something being dropped, followed by a pitiful sob."
