Through the dim fog skating across the crowds, his eyes can’t help but find yours. His compass point north even through all this blood, death and warring.
Even from afar he spies how they shake with barely restrained tears. Silver beading at your lash line. Your face as gaunt as he’s ever seen it. Sombre as a tombstone.
You’d leapt from your seat like a lightning bolt went through you, when Maekar brought down his horse with a spear. You’d cried out. Yelped his name across the mud like it was holy. Hands planted on the balustrade. Eyes wide.
As if you’d been wounded and not him.
His intended had stayed firmly in her seat.

Summary
“Seven fuck me bloody.” Lyonel curses under his breath. Eyes closed. Wincing in pain. Shifting lightly on your bed.
His long suffering squire was still struggling to undo his gambeson to his chest. The bright mustard of which, was staining into a wave of warm red. Like a macabre sunset. Gold making way to blood.
A gash was also cut right down and across his knee. Matching the brutal one that tore at his shoulder from the tusks. The parting gift from a wild boar he’d set out to hunt with his party.
Only he’d quite misjudged the ferocity. The squat little beast ploughed into his horse and sent him toppling. Headfirst into a tree, and then down into the mud. Before it then decided to round and come back and have his guts for a first course - and one knee, then his arm for seconds.
They had to bury three spears in the bastards neck to take it down. And he stuck its belly with his dagger whilst the thing tried to roll on top of him. A skuffle.
But he won.

The ship lurched and slammed down again. He barely flinched. Your breakfast threatened to make a sudden appearance. Bile building on the back of your tongue like clammy wildfire.

You close your eyes and breathe the mineral sharp air. The fierce breeze whipped hair back off your face. Twirled it behind you. The sun spun through it.

From the prompt; hey!! i saw this dialogue prompt under the married life sentence starters post and thought i'd submit it: "wait. are you pregnant?" i think it'd be funny if Lyonel is insistent that his Dondarrion wife is pregnant, and she just absolutely refuses the idea, only for him to end up being right.

“Aye. We shouldn’t.” He agrees. Pulling away with your spit stringing to his mouth.
Head dipped low. Hair draping over your shoulder as he ducks to kiss it. Nose smudged against your skin, your still sweet smelling skin. Damp hair. Now he’s got your sweat in his nose. He can’t think of anything more glorious than this.
“However, I’ve never been very good at being told not to do something.” He grins like it’s a promise.
“Fucking hells, Lyonel.” You curse. “Let this be enough.”
Never. He thinks.

Summary
Inspired by “trust my recipe” by anon cause I love the idea and wanted to make it Stormhedge
Dunk has been Lord Lyonel’s sworn man for years despite being an omega, training his squire in Storm’s End when they aren’t off wandering the countryside. With Egg nearing adulthood and Dunk himself nearing his mid thirties, lonesomeness has made him worrisome.
Fearing a life with no family of his own he seeks out a matchmaker, hopeful someone would be willing to mate such an odd omega.
Lyonel Baratheon is not pleased when he learns the omega knight he’s been pining after for years is seeking the hand of a lesser man.
*Baelor didn’t die in the trial and all is sorta well with the Targaryens. Egg is mostly allowed to stay with Dunk.*
