She kisses his knuckles again, eyes stinging a little. "I know."
He speaks in a rush, as if worried that she won't let him finish. "I'm glad I didn't. I like being alive. But—you gave me something so important, I didn't know any other way to give you something back. I didn't feel like I had anything worth giving, except my life, and my soul—I've spent so long just hating myself, wasting it, but if I could've given it to you—"
"Jinu," Rumi says, "Jinu."
"You gave me my soul back," he says wetly, squeezing her hand. "And now... I'm doing my best to take care of it."
Or: Rumi's demon heritage, Jinu's newfound soul, Zoey and Mira's love that now has a safe place to land. Everything is gentle, and everyone lives.

To his credit, Jinu isn't always predictable.
Between one blink and the next, Rumi throws her blade up with a harsh clang! as a curved hwando comes flashing towards her throat, wreathed in sickly pink fire and little more than a wicked blur in Jinu's hands that flings up a spray of discordant sparks where it clashes against her own, sending a hard jolt through her arms—and Jinu grins down at her over their crossed blades, the tip of a fang peeking out crookedly over his bottom lip.
"I don't know," he says, eyes dancing. "You tell me."
Or: Rumi discovers that Jinu can use a sword. They unlock a new dimension to their fighting-as-flirting strategy.

Carefully, she slipped past the hyacinths that had popped up around the bush like a small protective wall. They'd been the only reason she'd looked down at that spot really, and noticed the flash of gold curls amongst the pinks, reds, and purples of the rhododendrons. Artemis let her fingers linger on the petals of one of the small little guardian flowers, just for a moment.
She'd never been sure if her brother had noticed just how little control he actually had over hyacinths, for a flower that was supposedly 'his.' She suspected Demeter and Persephone knew, if anyone. But neither goddess had deigned to talk of such matters with Artemis. Perhaps for the best, Artemis wasn't really sure what she would've said if they had tried to bring the subject up. There's a very good chance she wouldn't tried to shoot one of them and then escape while they were distracted.
Emotions weren't her forte. She was grown enough to admit it.

“Find Medusa?” Percy spluttered, trying and failing not to sound indignant. “Nobody wants to find Medusa. You run into Medusa while trying to retrieve your uncle’s stolen lightning bolt and then mail her head to the gods after she keeps talking about how your eyes are like your father’s.”
From behind him, Piper raised a single finger. “When you mail what to whom?”
Percy glanced over his shoulder to give her a shrug. “Don’t worry about it. I was twelve,” he said before turning back to where Gabe was still fighting against the ropes binding his hands together. “Do you have any idea what to do with him?”
Nico leaned over, craning his neck to better peer at the hot sauce that still stained Gabe’s face despite the years of statue-ification. “Um, we could see if your dad wants to turn him into a fish or something?”
Percy grimaced. If Gabe Ugliano was a fish, then he’d be forced to hear the man’s voice in his head for years to come. But also, he could maybe mount him on a wall, so perhaps it wasn’t an entirely terrible idea.
Or
Medusa’s sculptures are mysteriously coming back to life. Percy doesn’t think murder is an unreasonable action given the circumstances.
