    Summary

You were so, so lonely. You worked a dead end job with no friends, no family, nobody to warm your bed when you come home. Your apartment was a void only inhabited by your empty sobbing. The world is bleak, life is bleaker. Every day was just so another repetition of agonized suffering.
And then you met him in a bar. For one hour, just one hour, you finally felt alive. Life was good. You were heard. You were listened to. You existed as a real human being after decades of depravity. Most importantly, for one entire hour on a singular Friday night, you were valued. And then, just as he arrived, he was gone, and your world returned to the same tedious shades of grey. But it hurt more. You were lonelier, sadder, degraded by joy and company. You knew what you'd been missing all your life, and you'd never have a chance to get it again.

You prayed every day that somebody, anybody, could take you away from all of your pain.

What a pity your prayer was answered.

    Summary

The truck's window lowered, revealing a man in the driver's seat. Large, that was your first impression. Tall enough that his head nearly touched the roof of the cab, broad shoulders silhouetted against the dashboard lights.

"Car trouble?" His voice carried a slight accent—European, maybe Austrian or German. Polite. Concerned, even.

"Yes! Oh my god, yes." The words tumbled out in a rush of relief. "It just died on me. I don't know what happened, it was running fine and then—"

"That's unfortunate." He leaned closer to his window, and you caught a better glimpse of his face. Strong features, light eyes that reflected the dashboard glow, short hair. Handsome, in a rough sort of way. "This road doesn't get much traffic at night."

"I could give you a ride," he offered finally. "To the next town. There's a motel there with a payphone. You could call for a tow."

Your first instinct was to say yes—enthusiastically, gratefully, anything to get out of this situation. But years of true crime podcasts and general survival instincts made you hesitate.

    You said yes anyway.

    Summary

No one sees a cleaning lady.

Cleaners are invisible. People remember them only when their desks start to gather dust, when their floors are full of mud. No one sees her except the tallest guy in the building: the guy who everybody seems to ignore, just like they ignore her.

It doesn't take long to see why. He's different, and not just because of the mask he's wearing.

You've been working with KorTac a few years now. It's good paying work, it's engaging, and best of all, you don't have to go even near the field.
It's a peaceful change of pace, if not a little lonely. Good thing your life is about to get a lot more interesting when someone takes note.

    Summary

Depression is a cruel mistress. One day when you think you might not get through it, you text the wrong number and find yourself talking to a sweet and intriguing man on the other side of the world. The more you text, the more you feel better. Friendship quickly blooms into something more.

This fic is based on comforts I have written to myself when I am struggling. Sweet König helps me through the tough times.
