He's vaguely aware of the commentator beginning to educate the audience about them through the loud speakers above the arena, but it all fades completely to nothingness once Scar releases Jellie and she takes the first jump.
The world focuses in on the two of them as he pulls her in to wrap around the back of jump two, crossing her to the other hand before sending her through the blue-striped tunnel.

Scar and Grian are dog agility handlers, and are chosen to represent their team in the world championships. Scar is desperately pining for Grian, but is struggling with his touch aversion and internalized homophobia at the same time.
