“I never understood tasting notes in alcohol. If you like sweet drinks there are much better options than whiskey. I like a good Diet Coke or Dr Pepper on a night out.” That’s his girl, not only drug intolerant, but not much of a drinker either. Also not technically his girl, but let him have this.
Or: Mel calls Frank to pick her up after a night out and she loses her house keys, so he offers her his bed for the weekend.

“Hollander.” Ilya drawled in greeting as he came to a clean stop at the faceoff circle. The referee was still making his way over, after consulting with another striped official, and Shane’s giddiness threatened to make itself known as he bit back a grin.
“Rozanov.” he replied politely, before asking, “What’s your favorite color again?”
His eyes narrowed as they tried to suss out what Shane was after; since Ilya likely knew that Shane knew his favorite color was blue, had been since they were both seventeen years old.
“Blue. Why? Is color you are feeling now, knowing you will lose faceoff?” he chirps, and Shane fights to keep a straight face.
“Just curious. Mine’s red tonight.” he lies smoothly. Shane’s actual favorite color is a certain stormy gray-blue. “That’s the color of lace Jane’s wearing tonight for a special someone.”

Summary
“What did you think, captain?” Casey asks.
Shane leans forward, leaning slightly into Ilya and making it even harder to concentrate on their conversation instead of getting lost in the woodsy smell and presence of Shane Hollander.
“I think–” Shane’s voice is a little sultry; the beers and shots truly are doing a number on him already, and it’s making the hairs on Ilya’s arms stand up. “–Rozanov has once again proven why he is one of the best in our league.”
Ilya wants to turn his head towards Shane, but his entire body jolts forward when he feels a hand coming to rest on his thigh underneath the table. He lets out an audible ‘oof’ and tries to desperately play it off when their teammates throw him a confused look.
Ilya makes a throw away gesture. “Hollander is being way too nice.”
“If I was you I’d enjoy it while it lasts,” Cliff Marlow says, with a shit-eating grin.
OR: Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov attend the Florida All-Stars after party, post Rose break-up and post Tampa Bay bar scene.
