"Colt, they're chasing me, they're making me go, they can't make me go! I'm no astronaut!" The fear, the pure terror that leaked from his brother's voice caused Colt to sit up, face draining of his colour.
He can hear the tell tale signs of running, wind whipping past the phone speaker and the heavy footfall of adrenaline filled running. "Help me Colt, I can't go they can't force me I said no. THEY'RE MURDERING ME"
Colt was crushed with the cold realisation that his brother never volunteered.
"You're dead and you can't help me but help me, Colt help me please you were always braver than me and they're murdering me, I don't wanna die."
He didn't wanna die. His brother, his brilliant scientist brother was being forced on a suicide mission.

"This is insane!" Colt shouted, quickly standing up with enough force to knock the chair to the floor. "Absolutely insane. You are telling me that my brother knew what this mission meant, every single little detail and still looked you in the eyes and said he wanted to do it? Fucking bullshit!"
Stratt sighed again, looking down on the desk for a second before forcing herself to meet his eyes. "No."
Immediately, it felt like the whole world paused.
"What?"
He couldn't have heard that right. It was only one word, but he had to have heard it wrong.
"He knew what the mission meant. It would save the entire human species. Dr. Grace was well aware of how important this is. But he was… hesitant to agree."
