He always made it a point to eat the players last, in some twisted way he enjoyed them. He didn't care about them, he had to make that clear. But he liked the company they brought. The smiles, the laughter, the questions both brilliant and dumb that would be asked. They were funny little creatures, so trusting. He liked them enough not to immediately pounce.
Verity would keep the facade of helpfulness and a bright attitude, until they started noticing the villagers going missing. Until there was no one left, but them. When they began to question him, when they started to pull away, that was when he’d strike.
He was still waiting for this one to pull away.

A recounting of how Verity and Mob met, and how their relationship forms. Verity is waiting for the moment Mob runs away, waiting to finally feast, only to see that the other... hasn't. And with that, Verity begins to look at him in a new light, which can mean nothing good for Mob.

Love has always been there, stuck in the inbetween. If you close your eyes and strain your ears – push past the buzzing cicadas and droning powerlines, past the rushing water and crashing waves, past the gasping and choking of life violently separating from body – love lives among the borders of it all. Love is a ruthless monster. ‘Hikaru’ has become too human.

Yoshiki and ‘Hikaru’ had a fight – nothing ‘Hikaru’ had intentionally caused, and yet Yoshiki can’t bring himself to explain to the entity living inside his dead best-friend’s corpse why he threw a conniption over him trying to hold hands in the very public eye of their school.
‘Hikaru’ would get over it eventually, anyways. The two of them always made up, no matter how big or small the issue. And no one else ever had to witness these tucked away moments of seething fear and festering desire. No one else ever paid the price for Yoshiki’s inability to accept what grew deep inside him.
