Summary
She remembers waking up, getting breakfast, and waiting for the day to start. She doesn't remember falling asleep, but she does remember waking up again. Only this time, it's cold, her body is weird, and she's suspended in what feels like egg whites. Oh, and her egg-mate? Yeah, that's Ghost. The Knight. Protagonist of hit indie video game Hollow Knight. And she... appears to be in the title role. Yippee.
Alright, comprehensive plan is this:
1. don't die
2. don't let Ghost die
3. get accidentally adopted by the White Lady
4. fix everything?This'll be fun. (And by fun, well, let's just say... mental breakdown.)
Heavily inspired by FreakOfYourNature's A Not-So-Hollow Knight (self insert dies painfully and for some reason reincarnates as the Hollow Knight, then proceeds to obliterate any sense of coherence Hallownest had left), but with two key differences: One, said self insert is infinitely less aggressive, and Two, the Pale King is actually a decent person. And maybe... maybe he could even become a decent father.

As their Generator malfunctions and fails, the city of Winterhome finds itself in dire straits. Alone in the Frostlands, and with nowhere to escape to, the death of the city is all but guaranteed.
However, a chance discovery by a scout team offers a new hope; a massive cavern, with breathable air, fresh water, and protection from the cold. Left with no other options, the city begins to evacuate, hoping that they have finally found their shelter from the storm.
Unfortunately for the survivors of Winterhome, their newfound refuge is far from the safe harbor they had prayed for. Trapped in an unfamiliar kingdom, and with temperatures on the surface plummeting, the Captain finds himself caught between the whims of Higher Beings and the encroaching Great Frost.

Five Pebbles dies, and then wakes again.
Bugs that walk and talk with god-given sapience, and an orange rot that’s spread throughout the entire facility grounds. What iterator could be so irresponsible as to let such an experiment waste away? On who’s grounds has he landed?
He is no bug, and this is no maze. Oh, what is a machine to do?
(in the meanwhile, the bugs look at this creature- pink, long, with too-rigid antennas and no mandibles to speak with yet so many things to say, and they see a remnant of their king. They do not realize that perhaps his kind are closer to vessels than to gods.)
TL;DR: angry calculator god in a world of bugs. Assumptions are made.

The Hollow Knight wakes to find the Old Light a mere mortal. he is, unfortunately, not allowed to kill her.Hornet must, with the help of both the Hollow Knight and her step-mother, revive a long dead kingdom.
This will not be easy.
on brief (if the stars align) hiatus since fun fact, making assumptions about the lore of a yet to be released video game is often unsuccessful :D so I gotta decide if I want to just add a "pre silksong" tag or go through and edit basically everything regarding the weavers and pharloom. leaning more towards reworking the fic to better fit the lore...but with sea of sorrows on the horizon im tempted to wait and avoid making any further incorrect assumptions :skull:
