Summary
Six months have passed since the events of the Starfall Islands, and Sage has largely been incorporated within the Eggman Empire without much fuss or problems, Sage's record remaining quite clean even yet, much to Eggman's pride for his daughter. That pride would only grow, however, as she'd come to him with a plan to finally stabilize Metal Sonic's emotional turmoil, with obviously not even a singular ulterior motive on her end, besides simply wishing to... well, of course, help her Brother fight his depression, and in no other way. With her help, Metal might just finally start defeating his near-decade old demons, once and for all, being perhaps lucky that even as he must leave the Eggman Empire temporarily to do so, he will not have to fight them alone. Rather, he'll be fighting them with the help of someone he's known for just as long as his own demons.
