Summary
Thanks to a few too many all-nighters with Jinu leading up to the Idol Awards, Rumi passes out on the way back home to the tower, having forgotten to answer several important questions or follow up with anyone.
Mira and Zoey don't know what deal she made with Gwi-ma to get her patterns, but they've agreed that they have to keep her safe. Celine CANNOT find out about the deal, so they're dodging her calls.
Celine doesn't know what happened at the Idol Awards, where the Honmoon went, where the new Honmoon came from, and why Rumi asked what she did, but Zoey and Mira aren't answering their phones and the news is no help. So she's rushing to Seoul to find out what happened in person and to see whether her daughter is safe.
Bobby knows the Namsan Tower performance was completely unplanned and he's starting to wonder if he needs to help his girls hide some bodies.

"A demon thing?" Rumi whispers. "Probably. Celine always said I had a strong immune system."
Mira makes a face. One that Rumi would've struggled to decipher even if her vision wasn't so blurry.
"Celine… knows?"~
In the immediate aftermath of Namsan tower, Rumi wakes up the following morning sick as a dog. Zoey and Mira help her through it, while also confronting their emotions and assumptions about the events of the last 24 hours.

It was a tiny room, honestly, much smaller than she was used to, but she wasn't going to complain if for no other reason than to rub it in Mira's face a little.

There was a certain glee to Zoey's voice that went over Rumi's head as something like panic seized her.

They hit it off and became great friends. Rumi even gets to meet her girlfriend! Rumi obviously isn't homophobic, but for some reason, she gets a prickly feeling when she sees them together.

Mira looked down. Bare skin. Her bare skin. She was naked. A sinking feeling hit her stomach.
What happened?

I'd just moved to Korea from America because my parents had gotten divorced and my mom thought a 'fresh start' would fix everything. We were about as far into our training as you are now when our mentor, Celine, reached out to touch Mira's shoulder. just to correct her stance, nothing threatening. But Mira freaked out completely."
She pauses, lost in the memory. "That was the first time she summoned her Woldo. She did it instinctively, creating distance between herself and Celine, between herself and everyone else. It was her defense mechanism to push others away before they can hurt her. They can't betray you if they already hate you, right?"
Ahrin's jaw tightens. "You don't know what the hell you're talking about."
Or; older, more experienced and power fading, Huntrix has to train the next three huntresses to protect the Honmoon, but what happens when these girls just won't fucking get along

Confusion, as she has had a lot of kinky gay sex and as such is certainly not a virtuous virgin, destined to survive.
Horror, as she realizes this means that the killer is dead set on hunting down Rumi and Zoey. Which she would allow over her dead fucking body.

“Mira?” Her voice cracked.
“Hey, Zoey, how long til you’re home?“
“Mira, I just hit someone with my car!” She tried holding back her tears as she looked at the unconscious woman in the back seat.
“You what?! Wh-why are you calling me? Call 911!” She shouted into the phone.
“No, I-I did, there’s been a huge pileup on the interstate, a massive accident and there was a-a fire downtown. They said the nearest paramedic is over fifteen minutes away.” She checked the back seat again to make sure she was breathing.
“Ok, ok, I’m on my way. Where are you?” The sound of dangling keys came through the speakers.
“I got the girl into the backseat and I’m taking her to the nearest hospital.” Zoey explained.
“I’ll meet you there, Zo. Be there in ten.” She sighed. “She one of those scam jumpers a druggie, homeless?” Mira asked, frustrated.
“No… I-I sort of… swerved into her…” Said, hesitantly.
“You what?!?” Mira shouted.
There was a-in the road… and the lightning and she flew into… I’ll explain it later!”

Mira's father is not a good father. His encouragements are double-edged, his kindness conditional. Mira is either his to shape into whatever he wants, or she is useless. Fatherhood is just business and children are just contracts to be refined.
Zoey's father is not a good father. Never listens, always silences. Zoey's never enough, too loud, too distracted, too Korean. She's more than can be handled, too quiet, too fixated, too American. Fatherhood feels like a contradiction.
Rumi's father is quite literally a demon from the darkest depths of hell. He promised his daughter would never live in shame. He'll make sure these two girls, these brave hunters, the light in Rumi's life, never will either.

"No! No, no!" It doesn't even sound like a genuine denial; it sounds more like a desperate attempt to close the case. "She was just trying to protect me, she..."
She's interrupted when a Shikal from Zoey is thrown in her direction. Her heart stops for a second, but it never penetrates her body. Rumi only notices the red smoke as it billows around the sides. Zoey had protected her even with every reason not to.
"She was trying to fix it all this! To fix me!" The explanation tumbles out, like a dam that's finally broken. She barely registers that fewer than half a dozen demons remain. “So we could all do our duty! We could be strong!”
The memory of the fair came to Rumi's mind, her lip trembling.
“Be together…”
Both alphas sharpened their gaze at the mention, sharing the same memory.
"How could we be together if we can’t tell your lies from your truths, Rumi?”

Or an alternate universe where the girls learn about Rumi's patterns in their early years of training. And the trust and communication is so much better, to the point where they ask each other for help with... things.
