    Summary

Sergeant Colt Seavers, Doctor Ryland Grace, and Convict Simon Fleisher didn’t sign up for this mission, but it turns out they’re the only ones that could do the job.

Simon is an ex-terrorist, promised a clean record for his cooperation.

Ryland is a middle school teacher who accidentally became a leading authority on astrophage, who they had to physically subdue in order to get aboard the mission.

And Colt is just a former Air Force pilot who wanted to save his little brother.

When the facility explosion takes out the only people on Earth who can save their sun, Stratt is left with her last option: The C Team

    Summary

Simon appears on Grace’s beach, and together, both men slowly navigate what that means for their new, shared reality. Both had respective things they sacrificed themselves for, that are no longer within their control. They’ve reached the finish line and cut the ribbon… but the track doesn’t end here. Not for either of them, not in the slightest.

    Summary

“Grace! Grace!” He chanted the teacher's name in his text-to-speech voice. Despite it being text-to-speech, Grace could sense Rocky’s urgency

“Ship crash. Similar to Grace ship. Human question?”

    Grace faltered.

    Ship? Human?

Grace was utterly confused. How could another human arrive to Erid when Earth was lightyears away? What are the chances the being in the ship is human?

Or: Ryland Grace lives an ordinary life, (as ordinary as life could be on an alien planet) as a scientist, researcher, and teacher.

    Enter: Simon.

    Summary

Simon's usually stoic face scrunched with confusion. "What are you doing?"

"Well- I just, ya know. I just wanted to-" Grace closed his eyes and took a deep breath that did nothing to calm his nerves before he shakily managed out. "I made you, a bouquet."

Simon's expression only twisted further into distress, "Why did you do that?"

Grace felt his measly courage wheeze out of him like a pathetic balloon, letting out a weak little, "Huh?"

After a moment for this brain to catch up with his mouth, he gulped and opened his mouth to try again, then stopped. Started again. "It’s… flowers."

"Yes," Simon said slowly, "I can see that."

Grace swallowed and tentatively added, "…For you."

That landed wrong. Simon’s immediately tensed, not in anger, more like suspicion and concern. He eyed the flowers with pursed lips before slowly drawing out another, "Why?"

    "What?"

Or the five times Grace attempted to woo Simon the human way, and the one time he tried it the Eridian way.

    Summary

“Don’t let the blood get into your ship, okay?”

    That made Grace pause. “What?!”

“If I die, you have to get my body out of here,” the man pleaded, but Grace had to go. His oxygen was out. The guy would be dead in six minutes. “You have to get me out, even if I’m dead. Hey!”

“Just hold on!” Grace propelled himself through zero gravity, away from the radio.

“Don’t leave me here-!” The roar echoed through the ship halls.

    ---

When Ryland Grace complained about being a little bored, maybe a little lonely, he thought a nostalgic trip around Erid would fix him right up. The last thing he expected was to find deadly space bacteria in deep space and a human. Alive.
