“What?” Bucky sputtered indignantly. “Sam Wilson has nothing to do with why I don’t want to go.”
“Yeah right,” Becca practically cackled. “I haven’t forgotten that you used to be half in love with the guy.”
As usual, his sister was exaggerating. Sure, he’d thought Wilson was hot — so had probably seventy-five percent of the school — but that didn’t mean he had been in love with the guy. Sam just had that whole Ferris Bueller thing going on: he was cute and popular and damn near everyone liked him. So, of course Bucky liked him too… even if he hadn’t particularly wanted to.
Or: Bucky had a crush on Sam in high school. Ten years later and he still maybe (definitely) has a crush. All he needs is a push from Becca...
