Summary
Unlike most children on Io, Arnold J Rimmer is required to spend his birthday in a poorly tailored suit at what is basically a debutante ball. He is expecting to spend the entire evening speaking to reluctant, middle-class girls. However, the frilly event will not go the way his mother planned.

Dave Lister, in a drunken haze, is tricked into taking a trip to Io in hopes of cheap booze, only to find it a dull moon full of middle-class attractions. He has 24 hours until the next shuttle leaves to entertain himself. There is only one event that night, hopefully it will have some sort of alcohol.
