None of this was ever supposed to happen. Samira was supposed to be dedicated to her studies, not getting distracted by having feelings for someone she was never supposed to have feelings for. Emery was never supposed to happen.
Everything with Emery was supposed to just be some summer fling, something thrilling and fun while the campus was a ghost town and her thesis advisor was away for a couple of months. Dragging herself out of the warmth of Emery’s bed and flinching when her feet hit the cold floor while the first weak rays of winter light peeked in through the blinds wasn’t part of the plan.
Samira's having a quarter-life crisis.

Ah situationship but it's actually one person overthinking and the other very sure they're dating until the other finally voices they think they're hated and going to break up and the second person is like "bitch we're getting married in 2 weeks????"
That's not what happened here but it's always how I think of the whole situationship but not actually trope. I love it

Everyone in The Pitt is a fucking gossip.
Emery's known this for years. Nurses and residents and med students and security will cycle in and out but the one fucking constant is that everyone loves to knee deep in each other's lives. It's worse now than it's ever been. The Filipino nurses are no joke.
Emery's not immune to it. She makes damn sure that she's not the subject of said gossip- outside of a surgery gone well - and she doesn't add to it, but she doesn't actively avoid it when she's down there. Especially on days like today.
She's not working on July 4th.
(Emery Walsh comes back from her summer vacation to find out that Samira Mohan is at risk of burning out. She does what she can to help)
