This is a plot bunny that wouldn't leave me alone. Somewhat of a reader fic. In this AU, mutants are bought and sold in the open market. Property. Used as working livestock, or to battle in the arena and sold for meat and parts when they are no longer useful. One such turtle finds himself to be sold in the market after he is too wounded to fight in the gladiator pits. He knows this is the last time he will be passed from owner to owner.
Until a woman walks into the market smelling of fresh linen and flowers...
